Gordo’s Tacos & Tequila is an original concept from Bondfire Restaurant Group president, Larry “Gordo” Bond. At age 15 in Fayetteville, N.C., he met Cynthia Berain Castenir from Monterrey, Mexico. He learned from her family how to make tortillas, marinate barbacoa, and make salsa and tortilla chips, or totopos. Ever since then Gordo wanted to open a taco restaurant to showcase these fresh flavors.

Our Corporate Executive Chef, Sean C. Thomas, developed a menu of classic and authentic Mexican flavors and incorporated them into dozens of tacos as well as burritos, fajitas, skillets and more. Then he tapped his creative side to develop unique tacos with international flair, because there are many foods in the world that are perfect for showcasing in a taco!
